On August 9, 2023 I was painting a new work and started using colors that I wouldn't normally use.
Suddenly realizing, I had been keeping up with the news about the fires on Maui it became clear why I had chosen the new color combination.
The painting is in honor of all the brave people who will be faced with making a new life and rebuilding Lahina.
The 12" x 12" x 1 ½" painting is cold wax and oil on birch caddle board canvas. The sides of the canvas are finished, and it is ready to hang.
